Ordering Information

Crooks and walkers are usually 46 – 54 inches in length although they can be made to requested lengths. The handles can be made in ash, elm, burr elm, cherry, sycamore and walnut although other woods may be available at time of ordering. Shanks are usually hazel although there is a limited supply of blackthorn.

In the past, Market sticks were the crooks farmers would have kept as ‘best’ to be used on market days only.

Often used for hill walking, a great support when walking out in the countryside! A thumb stick can also be used as a gun rest when shooting.

The round-heeled crook has a smooth rounded shape – as the name suggests.

These were originally made of horn and were used by shepherds to catch sheep by the leg – hence the name.
